FORBIDDEN PLAYGROUND IS 99 CENTS
Click on the book cover to read an excerpt of, or purchase, Forbidden Playground, the first book in the Legends of the Goldens Series, a hot and quirky sci-fi tale about good-guy psychic vampires who return to Earth so humans can help them chill out. A love story between the first two human/Golden hybrids who rediscover one another in New Freedom, New Jersey, the crazy town of tattoo artists and space-alien fanatics.
Big Promotion for Legends of the Goldens, Sci-fi Romance Series.
Now–Dancing Dragons (An ecology student with attitude realizes she must save a self-centered vampire because he’s an endangered species.) is 99 cents for a few more days. And Forbidden Playground (Can two childhood friends and potential lovers, once separated, find their way back to one another?) is 99 cents Christmas week.
Announcing a new addition to the series, a prequel novella, A Far Far Better Thing which will, hopefully, be released soon for free. (About a forbidden love between a very human-looking android and the “accidental” mother of a future, and very powerful, human/Golden hybrid.)
Also available for purchase forever at 99 cents is an inspirational Christmas science fiction short story Lost and Found. (Can human astronauts save these little aliens from their exploding star?)
Stay tuned for my very own newsletter, announcing all my free and low-priced books.

Dancing Dragons (Book 2: Legends of the Goldens Series) Blurb
An environmental activist re-examines her treatment of endangered species when she comes face-to-face with a rare and handsome space alien who’s animated chest tattoos do the most suggestive things.
Eco warrior, Maggie Maclaurin, can somehow see through Andrew Everett’s conjured fraternity disguise: he’s a psychic cousin to the vampires, and with those flying dragon tattoos undulating across his naked chest, positively an endangered species, definitely in need of saving. But when real vampires make a pact with the corrupt government to bring a little more nasty onto campus, Maggie’s chaotic vibes keep Andrew from protecting her, make him sick each time he comes in for a nibble from the neck of this attractive, yet headstrong girl. Can Andrew forget about his self-centeredness long enough to gain Maggie’s trust, so he can save her from the vampires’ fangs, and if he does, who will save her from his own?

Excerpt:
“We saved the world. That we did.” Crumpled cup still in hand, Red motioned for Andrew to follow him to the edge of the jungle.
“So is this Earth, the one I was born into different from that other one?” Andrew used his hand to wipe the wet sand from the bottom of his warmups.
Studying the boy in front of him who could have easily removed the sand with a conscious thought, Red pulled a damp towel from his pocket and suppressed a smile. “Ya do ask a lot of questions.”
Kick-Ass Critiques from Melody of Love Contest Judges
Well, folks, didn’t final with Fly Like An Eagle my 1824 steampunk romance between a Native American raised between two worlds and a “proper” Philadelphian young woman who has the honor of deciding to choose between the world of science and the world of spirit.
However, the judges were exceptionally thorough in their shared strategies on how to make my tale more lively. Thank you to them.
For all those who think contests are a thing of the past in romance, maybe think again. Depth and honesty don’t come easy in the critiquing business.
Entered Melody of Love RWA Chapter Contest
Entered the Music City Romance Writers 2014 Contest: Melody of Love.
See the RWR magazine of the Romance Writers of America for a listing of the next contests. Though some think these contests are a thing of the past because of all the self-publishing, they provide inexpensive feedback from authors in one’s genre. As with other authors in my awesome San Diego Chapter, I’m still growing as a storyteller.
2014 Hot Prospects Contest
Just sent in my entry to Valley of the Sun’s RWA Chapter Contest.
Shopping Around my new novel:
Fly Like An Eagle, a sci-fi historical romance, takes place in 1824, mostly, at the establishment of the Franklin Institute of Science in Philadelphia. The hero is half Native American and the heroine is a bookish tomboy with loads of attitude. Sparks fly.
Not only am I entering this MS in contests, I’m doing another polish on it before I send it in to almost 10 editors and agents who’ve requested a peek.
Fly Like An Eagle is part of my Ages of Invention Series, the first novel of which was Entangled (Takes place partly in 1717 Scotland. Published by Black Opal Books, but I’ve gotten the rights back to package it with Eagle).
Winner in Contemporary Category of RWA Celtic Hearts Contest
The New Adult Contemporary Romantic Suspense renamed “Open Season on Love and Death” has won the Contemporary Category of the Golden Claddagh Contest.
Penguin and Carina judges liked it, and a Penguin judge left helpful suggestions before asking for my submission of the full.
Rights to “Entangled” Returned
The first book in my “Ages of Invention” Series has been returned to me to get spiffed up and packaged with the second book in the series, Fly Like An Eagle, now being requested by agents and editors.
